    Hey world, I went over to the USA for a holiday. I wanted to meet a bunch of my heroes before they passed, and I wanted to check out the music scene there. It was a very eye opening experience! I did meet a few of my heroes and chatted on the phone with a bunch of them. Hearing Jim Keltner play live was a mighty experience.     I have been working on developing my own vocabulary for 'comping' in the jazz and improvised music areas. At the moment, I am working on permutations of simple rhythms spread around the limbs - whilst to type, it was easy, it is quite difficult to acheive. The goal is to be able to freely improvise with a simple rhythm and three permutations of it spread over all 4 limbs.     Hey world My new album Indoor Cowboy (with me playing the guitar!) is out now. We had an excellent launch at Foundry 616 on July the 1st. With Hamish Stuart on drums, Adam Pringle on guitars, and a special guest (filling in for Brett Hirst) Jonathon Zwartz on the double bass.     In November 2013, I set myself the challenge of recording an album, with me playing guitar, playing my own songs. As someone who could only fiddle my way around the instrument at that point, this was a large load of work to take on!
